I am an aquatic ecologist from Montreal, Canada. I completed my Bsc at McGill University in 2023 and my MPhil at the University of Cambridge in 2024. I have worked on freshwater crayfish, mussels, and macrophytes both in Canada and the UK. Most of my past work has focused on community and population ecology in freshwater systems. I am looking forward to shifting my research focus to conservation and restoration science in marine habitats for my PhD.
±Ê°ù´ÇÂá±ð³¦³Ù:ÌýRestoring Crayweed (Phyllospora comosa): Integrating habitat suitability and genetic resilience in southeastern Australia.
Supervised by:Â Adriana Verges, Ezequiel Marzinelli
Project Description: Seaweed forests are vital marine ecosystems, providing habitat for diverse coastal communities while playing a key role in marine food webs. They also contribute to global oxygen production, sequester significant amounts of carbon, improve water quality, support commercial fisheries, sustain coastal livelihoods, and hold cultural and recreational significance. The objective of this projects is to build on the success of ‘Operation Crayweed’– a kelp restoration project focused on Phyllospora comosa (crayweed) forests in southeastern Australia - by increasing its recognition in marine ecosystem management and provide opportunities in the context of the Nature Repair initiatives. We aim to develop proactive restoration strategies to help them withstand the inevitable impacts of climate change.
