I grew up in the Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley region with an innate curiosity and passion for the natural world. I am fascinated with prehistory and evolution with much of my focus on Australian vertebrate palaeontology. I previously completed my bachelors and an honours degree on Hypsiprymnodon (musky rat kangaroo) at »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ. My PhD will focus on another enigmatic group of Australian marsupials the Pseudocheirids (ringtail possums). When I’m not studying I can be found exploring rock pools, walking through the bush or watching David Attenborough documentaries.

Project Description: During my PhD candidature I will be investigating the evolutionary history and palaeoecology of ringtail possums in the fossil record with a specific focus on the genus Pildra. Specifically, I will be describing a number of extinct Pseudocheirids (ringtail possums), examining their phylogenetic relationships and determining their utility for biostratigraphic correlation.
