Steve Colbran is an Associate Professor in the School of Chemistry, »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ. He is expert in all facets of transition metal chemistry with especial skills in the design and uses of multifunctional ligands and in the electrochemistry of transition metal compounds.Ìý
Research Interests
- Biological catalysis: using computational and synthetic models to uncover insights about multi-electron redox processes in biology, for example, in respiratory proton pumps and in nitrogen reductases.
Ìý - Biomimetic catalysis: using biomimcry to discover new catalysts for multi-electron reduction processes.
Ìý - Catalysis for a sustainable future: multi-electron reductions of carbon dioxide to methanol, a clean alternative transport(able) fuel.Ìý
Ìý - Design, synthesis and use of transition metal systems with redox-active, multifunctional ligands.
Ìý - Copper chemistry and its relevance to biology and medicine.
