Welcome to our Digital Technology Laboratories. We offer high-performance computing for data processing, supporting biosignal analysis, computational modelling, and genomics research.

Our facilities include software for computational modelling and data science, with access to big data resources like the UK Biobank. We specialise in telehealth and remote monitoring systems, as well as biomedical data analysis for personalised medicine. Our AI and machine learning capabilities focus on disease prediction, biosignal processing, and clinical decision support.

Infrastructure and High-Performance Computing

Our facilities feature high-performance computers and servers, including access to cloud servers and local HPCs, for intensive data storage and processing. We provide a robust computing infrastructure capable of supporting biosignal and biomedical image processing, physiome, digital twin, musculoskeletal, and device-body interaction computational modelling, bioinformatics, computational genomics, and transcriptomics research.

Software and Data Science

The laboratories are equipped with Matlab, Comsol, and Python software for advanced computational modelling and data science applications, including health informatics and data visualisation. Researchers have access to cloud services and big data collections, such as the UK biobank dataset, to facilitate clinical trial design and telehealth applications.

Remote Monitoring and Telehealth Systems

We offer telehealth systems and remote patient monitoring solutions, utilising wearable sensors and peripherals like, non-invasive blood pressure monitoring devices, ECG monitoring devices, pulse oximeters, and unobtrusive monitoring sensors such as radars, utilising smartphone apps and backend servers. Our facilities are designed to engage stakeholders, including health districts, hospitals, and clinicians, ensuring comprehensive telehealth design and implementation.

Biomedical and Health Data Analysis

The lab provides tools for generating multiomics data, blood flow and oxygen modeling, and preclinical vascular imaging. We support personalised medicine with facilities for cell culture, histology, immunohistochemistry, and sequencing, enhancing diagnostics and treatment monitoring.

Additionally, we specialise in analysing electrocardiography (ECG), blood pressure-related waveforms such as pressure signals and Korotkoff sounds, as well as electronic medical records (EMRs) and free-text clinical notes, enabling comprehensive cardiovascular and clinical data integration.

AI and Machine Learning

Our AI & ML capabilities include deep learning for disease prediction, biosignal and image processing, and 3D virtual reconstruction of anatomies. The lab’s GPU computing power is dedicated to AI in cell biology and the development of clinical decision support systems.
